OROAFRICA was established as a small cast manufacturer and wholesaler of jewellery in 1945. It was a family business. In 1990 Steven Nathan joined as financial director and, eight years later after a management buyout, partnerships were forged with the internationally renowned Italian manufacturer of gold jewellery, Filk Spa, and one of the world’s largest gold producers, AngloGold Ashanti.

Although the company relocated from Johannesburg to Cape Town, investing many millions in its state-of-the-art manufacturing factories and head office, the strong family values that epitomise OROAFRICA remained.

As South Africa’s largest manufacturer and exporter of jewellery, we continue to recruit and train scores of talented young South Africans in the art of jewellery creation. We serve clients throughout South Africa, North and South America, the United Kingdom, Australia and Mauritius. Currently we are looking to Dubai, the Middle East, India and China.

Ironically, as our global distribution widens, our focus narrows. All our initiatives are focused on how we can further enhance the very personal, win/win relationships we nurture with our clients.
